Most of Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals plants are located near seas and oceans where soft soils exist. The important note is that construction of these heavy plants on the soft soil will lead to significant settlements which these structures are mostly very sensitive to. Therefore geogrids are widely used for increasing bearing capacity and reducing settlement of these structures.
