GPGrid_Geogrid (Uni-Axial Geogrid)
Uni-axial Geogrid comprised of polyester yarn with high tensile strength and low strain with PVC plastisol coating are extensively used in reinforcing soil and construction retaining walls, slopes, and bridges.
GPGrid2BX_Geogrid (Biaxial Geogrid)
This type of Geogrid is made of polyester yarn with high tensile strength and low strain with PVC plastisol coating. It is widely used in increasing the loading capacity of unstable subgrade and covering sinkhole constructing railways, in classified road construction.
Soil Geogrids
Geogrids are web-like screens, made by polymer extrusion or warped polymer fibers. The empty spaces between the middle geogrid bands cause a great deal of interlocking with the surrounding soil material. Due to the interaction of soil particles with geogrid networks, the resulted force from the surcharge transfers from the soil to geogrid networks and then extends to a wider level which is equal to geogrids’ area, thereby reducing the intensity of stress concentration. Because of the high rigidity of geogrids in compared with the soil, the lateral motion of soil particles is limited. Therefore, the safety factor increases against large displacements and ultimately failure.
Using geogrid for soil reinforcement, in addition to improving the performance of earth structures, makes the implementation of geotechnical projects more quickly and less costly.
The Geo Parsian geogrids are manufactured from polyester fibers coated with PVC and have a different tensile strength of 20 to 400 kN/m. These geogrids are manufactured in two types of uniaxial and biaxial geogrids.
